What I’m Watching: Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse

YUP!

You saw it correctly.

I am a 20 year old university student who just started watching a children’s tv show and not just any basic children’s tv show but a Barbie TV show.

I think that speaks volumes of what kind of person I am. And it just means that I’m a person who is really impressed at the hilarious witty jokes the writers of this show promotes. It’s like a parody of Barbie. The writers are not afraid to poke fun at Barbie’s mega successful industry nor is it afraid to laugh at how ridiculous Barbie can be about fashion, her careers, materiality, and ditz.

However, let’s not discredit this show completely. While it’s a children’s tv show, it still holds values in its characters. We have the classic mean girl who is jealous of Barbie’s success and boyfriend, Ken. But we also have the generous, kind, loving, characters like Barbie and Ken who will do anything for their friends. Ken is always supportive of Barbie. And Barbie is always supportive of her friends as well as giving back to them.

The episodes run a story per episode so there’s not really anything deeper or more complex than you’re seeing but it’s worth the try when you’re bored and want something simpler.

Until next time!

Best,

Lisa

P.S. Some assembly required.

Too Tired.

It is recommended to get 8 hours of sleep each day.

They probably meant 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. 8 hours of continuous sleep where you’re swept up in dreamland and you’re just…sleeping.

But like most of us, I don’t get 8 hours of sleep. I try to but when the Vine app is calling my name or Netflix is telling me that I only have 3 seasons of The Office before I finish the show, it’s hard to ignore their voices. For the past two days, I’ve gotten probably 10 hours of sleep in total.

That’s 5 hours of sleep for those who don’t want to do the simple math.

Or that’s 6 hours of sleep I should have gotten but I didn’t.

That’s 3 hours of lost sleep each day.

COMING SOON: Book Reviews

I’ll let you on in a little secret.

I usually post book reviews right after I read them (or at least I try to). So when you see me particularly active on your reader or if you see one of my posts more than once per week, it means that I’m back in my reading groove or I binge read and then binged reviewed all the books that I read.

Currently, I’m sort of busy and lazy. I have a lot of homework and exams to study for so I haven’t been reading as much as I like because I’m just so exhausted from waking up early in the morning to head down to class that I usually use the transportation time to sleep instead of reading. But, regardless of my exhaustion, you can expect at least 3 book reviews in the near future…and possibly 4 if I decide to skip watching episodes of the office and my responsibilities and just finish the new book I picked up.

Here are the covers of each book I’m going to review!

Obviously more details to come on what each book is about and my honest opinions on all of them! Keep an eye out for my posts and definitely keep an eye out for these books!

Much love,

Lisa.

Wowie!

I started this blog a little bit over a month ago and I already have 200 followers. I know it’s not a lot for a blog but considering the much harder blogging system wordpress has for its bloggers to find blogs, this is an achievement for me. The reason why I say it’s a harder system is because it’s harder to find blogs to follow and harder to have blogs find you. But nevertheless, thank you for following my blog, liking my posts, and commenting.

You guys are swell.

Best, Lisa.

Movie Review: Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl.

Let’s start off this post with the disclaimer that I never read the book yet but I do have it on my shelf. So it’s a start. The reason why I never read it yet was because I couldn’t get past the first couple of pages. The writing was too structured. There wasn’t much of a flow. And I just couldn’t get past the big words etc.

Anyways, I watched the movie today on Netflix Canada and I absolutely loved it.

My Rating: 5/5
