Inside Out Book Tag

Hi guys!

I felt that my blog is more focused on book reviews right now which is fine because that’s the whole point of a book review blog but I wanted to change it up and maybe post some things that are fun to read.

So here’s a book tag I took from booksbiscuitsandtea. You can find her original post here.

Inside flap / Back of the book summaries: Too much info? Or not enough (Discuss)Inside flap / Back of the book summaries: Too much info? Or not enough (Discuss)

I have to admit that I skim the summaries sometimes and depending on the situation I’m in, I may get really confused by them. If it’s noisy on the street, I may think a female character is having a relationship with her brother because I’m confused. I know! It’s horrible. But I blame it on mostly not having enough.

New book: What form do you want it in? Be honest: audio book, e-book, paperback, or hardcover?

I bought a new tablet so I’ve been addicted to using it to read! It’s just easier to hold, turn around in my bed, readjust my sleeping position, or just tapping to skim boring pages. But I really enjoy buying physical books. I love owning them and holding them in my hands. I prefer hardcover because they’re so glorious. It just sucks that it’s expensive.

Scribble while you read? Do you like to write in your books, taking notes, making comments, or do you keep your books clean clean clean? (Tell us why)

I have no need to make notes. Ha! I usually just remember tidbits I liked and disliked and discuss about them in my reviews.

In your best voice, read for us your favourite first sentence from a book.

how do i do this lmao??

Does it matter to you whether the author is male or female when you’re deciding on a book? What if you’re unsure of the author’s gender?

Personally, I tend to read a lot of romance novels so it’s weird for me if I read a romance written by a male. However, when reading a young adult novel, I have certain expectations for books written by male and female. For male, I tend to lean towards books featuring quirky boys who find themselves in hilarious awkward situations. I expect to laugh, to groan from all the sexual jokes, and giggle at how ridiculous they are sometimes when they’re with their friends. For female, I expect more romance and more friendship bonding.  Majority of my books are written by females so I guess I tend to really like female authors!

Ever read ahead? Or have you ever read the last page way before you got there?

Hell yeah! Why not? Sometimes I’m so unsure of what will happen or who will the main hero be in a story, I flip ahead. I have no shame.

Organized bookshelves, or outrageous bookshelves?

My shelves are a mess. I tried to organize them by genre and type of sub-genre but after I take photos for my instagram (remarkablylisa), they’re a mess.

Under oath: have you ever bought a book based on the cover (alone)?

Of course. Who hasn’t? In a world where our attention span is literally as fast as a notification popping up on our phones, who doesn’t judge something by cover first when picking out books to read their summaries? We simply don’t have time to waste on uninteresting covers.

Take it outside to read, or stay in?

Let me sleep in my bed while reading and I’ll be happy.
